Bewick's Brew is Brewing

We are delighted to share the exciting news that Bewick’s Brews, the new school café based on Site 2 at Thomas Bewick School, is beginning to take shape.

This fantastic project has been made possible thanks to the generosity and support of the local community. We would like to thank CER, local families, churches and our partners at Café Beam, Dilston College and The Pickle Place for their donations, advice and encouragement.

The pupils have been at the heart of the project from the very beginning. They have helped design the café layout and, with support from our caretaker, have even built some of the furniture from scratch. The School Council also played an important role by selecting the winning logo design that will proudly represent Bewick’s Brews.

There is still plenty to do, with pupils now helping to plan menus, explore job roles and begin training for future work in the café. These experiences will help develop valuable employability, communication and customer service skills.

Everyone is incredibly excited to see Bewick’s Brews come to life and cannot wait to welcome the first customers. Watch this space for further updates as our café continues to grow.
