Class Dojo
At Thomas Bewick School, we pride ourselves on our fantastic communication with parents and carers. We love posting class articles on our website and social media platforms so everyone can see the amazing activities and lessons our children are completing in their classes.
Although staff frequently make telephone calls, speak face to face and email parents and carers, this can sometimes be time consuming. In particular when we want to share a photo about an amazing personal achievement your child has had. As we know, a picture can say a thousand words and there's nothing like seeing our pupils engaging in school and making accelerated progress, especially with interaction and communication with their friends.
At Thomas Bewick School, we have started to use Class Dojo to be able to keep in contact with parents and carers and share daily updates of what classes have been doing. You should have received an email inviting you to connect with the school, so please make sure you accept this. There is also an app you can download to a smartphone to make things easier for you. The main contact for each student will be set up on Class Dojo and if any additional parents would like to have access then this can be requested through your child’s class teacher.

You will receive a ‘class story’ from your child’s class every day, so that you can see what your child has been up to in school. You will also be able to message you child’s class teacher directly about anything specific to do with your child, and our teachers can also message you privately. Please remember that our teachers will be teaching your children during the day, so please do not expect an immediate reply.
If there is any information your childs' class team need to tell you directly, they will make either a telephone call to yourself or send you a message, depending on how quickly they need to contact you.
