This week in English, Site 4 Class B has been enjoying the familiar nursery rhyme 'Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush'. The pupils have been using the song to explore everyday routines and self-care skills through lots of fun, practical activities.

The children have been acting out the different parts of the song, including jumping out of bed in the morning. This has encouraged them to listen, join in with the actions and develop their understanding of familiar daily routines.

They have practised washing their faces with a cloth, brushing their teeth with a toothbrush, and combing their hair. These activities have provided wonderful opportunities to practise important self-care skills while developing independence.

The children have also enjoyed dressing dolls, choosing clothes and practising the actions involved in getting dressed. This has supported fine motor skills, communication and an understanding of everyday routines.

The learning has continued through role play, where the children have been using toy food, alongside plates, knives and forks. They have enjoyed pretending to prepare and eat meals, giving them opportunities to develop their imaginative play, communication and social skills.

It has been lovely to see the children becoming so engaged with the song and bringing the different routines to life through movement, role play and hands-on experiences. Everyone has had lots of fun learning together!
