Job Opportunity: Assistant Headteacher

Permanent, part time 0.6 (Currently Weds, Thurs and Fri. Working pattern may be re-negotiated in response to the needs of the school)

Thomas Bewick School is a large, successful specialist school, in Newcastle upon Tyne, for pupils with autism aged between four and nineteen years.

Required as soon as possible, we are looking to appoint a highly positive, motivated and talented Assistant Headteacher with middle or senior leadership experience and a passion for teaching pupils with autism and associated difficulties. We value high standards of achievement for all of our pupils and so we are looking to appoint an excellent senior leader who will make a positive contribution to the education of our fantastic pupils at Thomas Bewick School. All pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs, and abilities range from Engagement Model to lower National Curriculum levels. Our new Assistant Headteacher will play a key role in leading teaching and learning across the school to ensure that we continue to provide a fantastic quality of education for all of our pupils.
