Thomas Bewick School and Kenton Bar Primary School Consultation Feedback

A consultation was undertaken regarding the proposal to increase the planned number of pupils attending Thomas Bewick School by 32 places over a 5-year period, taking the number from 360 to 392.

This was proposed by Newcastle City Council to ensure that there are sufficient school places for pupils whose needs mean that they require tailored educational provision. The additional spaces would be achieved by establishing a satellite provision at Kenton Bar Primary School, which would meet the needs of Thomas Bewick School.

The consultation was shared with current and potential stakeholders:

• Staff at Thomas Bewick School and Kenton Bar Primary School
• Trustees and governors at Prosper Learning Trust and SMART multi academy trust
• Trade Unions
